Scalloped Crochet Boot Cuffs

I created a shorter pair of boot cuffs from this pattern. The original pattern have 3 buttons and are 7 inches tall. This was a little tall for my boots, so I made a 4.5 inch version of the pattern with only 2 buttons.

Materials
- size G crochet hook
- any worsted weight yarn
- 4 1-inch buttons
- tapestry needle

Pattern
Ch 18.

Row 1: hdc in 3rd chain from hook, hdc in each ch across, ch2, turn (17, first ch2 counts as hdc here and throughout)

Row 2: hdc in bl of each st across, ch2, turn (17)

Repeat row 2 until piece fits around calf, about 11 to 12 inches long

Next row: hdc in bl of each st across, ch 1, turn

Next row: sc in next 3 sts, ch 3, sk next 3 sts, sc in next 5 sts, ch3, sk next 3 sts, sc in last 3 sts, ch1, turn (two ch-3 spaces created)

Next row: sc in next 3 sts, 3 sc in ch-3 sp, sc in next 5 sts, 3 sc in ch-3 sp, 3 sc in last 3 sts, ch1, turn

Next row: *sk 2 sts, 6 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, rep from * ending with 5 sc in last st, DO NOT TURN, work along long edge of piece *sk 2 sts, 6 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from * ending with 4 sc in last st, sc along short side, fasten off.

Try to space out the scallops evenly on the long edge even though you will work into the sides of the rows. The border is worked around the short side, long side, and another short side like this:

Try on your boot cuff and sew on your buttons so that it fits comfortably. Weave in the yarn tails and you're done!
